This is the last property fringed by bushland on one side that attracts an array of birdlife that you will appreciate from inside or outside this lovely home. Shipwreck Sands overlooks a lush, grassed foreshore on the edge of the sand, nothing to obstruct the beautiful view. A perfect home to take in the view across the bay and the magnificent granite boulders of Hawkings Point.
Within easy walking distance you can throw a fishing line off the historic jetty, relax and enjoy a delicious meal at the foreshore restaurants and cafes, explore walking tracks to stunning coral sea lookouts, play a round of golf at the local course or simply enjoy the peace of quiet and beautiful surrounds of this magnificent property.
This house features comfortable furnishings and decor throughout. The architecturally designed home has used angles and windows to capture the tropical breeze and plenty of light. A front deck brings the outside in and you can enjoy the view across the Coral Sea to Townsville on the horizon. The private side deck makes the perfect place to enjoy the pool and outside dining area.
This home is suitable for both couples and families featuring 4 bedrooms. There are 2 queen beds and an option to have 4 king single beds or 2 king beds. The main bedroom features an ensuite plus there are 2 additional bathrooms.

Anne - 30th NovemberGreat family holiday spot. House is private with excellent beachfront access. Kitchen & laundry is well equipped with everything you need. Plenty of space and beautiful location.

Mrs Mac - 30th NovemberThis house exceeded my expectations! Perfect for a family of 3 boys. We stayed the week before Christmas, and had the beach to ourselves. Located in a lovely quiet part of the island. Very relaxing for the adults, but the kids were also well catered for. Plenty of privacy, space and comfort. Lots of attention to detail in the house. Each room has a view of the ocean and bushland. Beach access was literally at the front door. Bonus was the short stroll to the beach front tavern for afternoon cocktails! There was no internet access, but that did not worry us at all. If you are planning to self cater (which we did in the well equipped kitchen), I would recommend buying groceries before arriving. Rental managers were very friendly, professional and helpful. Courtesy car transfers were appreciated.
A natures experience with luxury
Ross - 30th NovemberThis property cannot be beaten for location abutting & next to the national park and with a quality accommodation giving a an expansive & sumptuous experience .A little too pricey but justifiable for a large group of 4 or more sharing the cost . The managing agents were very helpful with transfers and other little things many thanks Pam and the staff .
Wonderful place to stay!
Hilary - 30th NovemberWe were a family group of 7 staying at Picnic Bay over a few days due to a wedding. Highly recommend this property which is well located and well finished. Very quiet at the end of the foreshore. You can swim close by in winter. There is a good kitchen and also good eateries nearby. Loved walking from the house to the beach and hill climbs. Great place for a large group with various sitting out areas.
