The Forts Walk Track 2km 1.5 hours return.
The track starts near the Radical Bay turnoff. It winds its way along the ridge with good views above Arthur and Florence Bays. On the way up there are two gun emplacements, one on either side of the path. Some of the ‘rocks’ are actual false being the remains of the camouflage over the gun barrels. At the top there are two buildings, the command post and the observation tower. Both buildings have beautiful panoramic views of the island and the surrounding sea.
Take your time on the walk to read the many signs offering information on the history of the forts and ensure to keep an eye out for koalas along the way.
