Magnetic Island’s Alma Bay in the Arcadia area is one of many scenic beaches to explore. You can travel to this stunning beach directly from Magnetic Island’s Ferry Island Terminal 1, Nelly Bay. Three modes of transportation are offered to you:

  • Car: If you have your own car or have rented a car with Magnetic Island, you can drive directly from Ferry Island Terminal 1, Nelly Bay to Alma Bay. It’s a roughly five minute drive.
  • Bus: The 250 bus takes you directly from the Ferry Island Terminal 1, Nelly Bay with Alma Bay being the fourth bus stop. Journey time takes approximately 5 to 7 minutes via Marine Parade.
  • Walk: Should you wish to take your time, you have the option to walk to Alma Bay via Marine Parade. It is roughly a 2.4km journey.

Arcadia, Magnetic island has many activities and things to do. The following bay faces East and boasts two large granite outcrops. As a result, this small yet picturesque bay is shielded from harsh waves and wind, making it the perfect place for families with young children to swim and snorkel. Public amenities on the beach include a gas barbecue, a shaded children’s playground, changing areas and toilets making it an ideal place for picnics.

Arcadia is perfectly situated within the smallest of the four main bays on Magnetic Island. It is surrounded by the prominent Alma Bay and Geoffrey Bay. Most of Alma Bay’s Magnetic island accommodation is located within the Arcadia area.

All types of fishing are not allowed in the National Parks Green Zones. This includes Geoffrey Bay, Alma Bay, Florence Bay, Gowrie Bay, Radical Bay, Balding Bay, or any of the Five Beach Bay areas.

Alma Bay is a small picturesque Bay located on the East side of Magnetic Island. It is not located on the mainland. However, you can travel there via Ferry at Townsville in Queensland.
